New Console for St Peter's Plymouth - November 2007

This is a rather unusual project!

The console is a maple 'box' hung between two semi-eliptical stainless steel tubes and it was designed by architects Harris McMillan of Exeter who were also responsible for the design and re-ordering of the church.

The organ is a Compton which has been restored by Michael Farley and the console can be moved between various positions within the church. We carried out the build of the console during the summer and autumn working with Stoneman Engineering of Willand who fabricated the stainless steel and glass.

New Casework at Buckland Newton - June 2004

New casework being made for the re-build and re-siting of the organ at the Church of the Holy Rood, Buckland Newton, has been gradually taking shape since November. During November and December 2003 the main casework was installed with the chaire case following in January 2004. The 19th March saw the gallery panelling go into place in the weeks since we've been working on the remaining details, finally completing the work at the end of May. We have also carried out the re-conditioning of the pedalboard and made new stop panels with wooden stop heads. The picture to the right shows work taking place on the 7th May. The re-building of the organ is being carried out by Michael Farley and Howard Foreman of Budleigh Salterton and the casework design is by Howard Foreman.

Mechanical Action Parts - January 2004

We are pleased to have taken over the mechanical action interests of A J & L Taylor Ltd. The transfer of this business to Renatus was completed during January 2004 and provides the company not only with the machines but, most importantly the processes developed by Taylors over the ten years that they have been manufacturing these parts. We are retaining the same range of mechnical action parts that were previously provided by Taylors, along with the same part numbers. During 2004 we will be retaining the same price structure offered by Taylors during 2003.

Introduction of Turned Wooden Drawstops - October 2003

Renatus has teamed up with a local specialised wood turner to develop our own wooden drawstop heads. We can offer two sizes of heads from stock, one of 32mm diameter and one of 38mm, each available in wenge or blackwood (depending on availability of materials), with an insert of specially turned imitation ivory. The inserts can be engraved using our computer engraving facilities in a variety of fonts. In addition to our standard designs we are able to make special heads and inserts either to your own drawings or existing samples.
